Use fresh watermelon juice to make a delicious white wine watermelon sangria recipe. Watermelon Sangria is a taste of summer.
Pin Watermelon Sangria here.
Summer is not summer until I’ve made a watermelon cocktail. Seriously, what is more summer than watermelon? As a kid I especially remember eating a big slice of watermelon. Juice dripping down my chin and a huge grin on lips. I was particularly adept at the watermelon seed spitting contests with my cousins. After all, isn’t that what being a kid is all about?
While I may no longer be in contention for the winner of the watermelon seed spitting contest, I am particularly good at watermelon cocktails. First I started my watermelon cocktail repertoire with Watermelon Margaritas. Next I’ve branched out to Watermelon Sangria. First fresh watermelon juice or puree is in order. As I live in Georgia, finding a delicious Georgia Watermelon is a must. Simply add chunks of seedless watermelon to your blender and puree. If you do not have a high powdered blender, you may need to put the puree through a sieve to remove any seeds. I don’t bother with that step.
Next I like to use a bottle of a semi-sweet white wine. The one I use has a little effervescence and fruity flavor. Last I adding a little orange liquor and, of course, some fresh fruit seals the deal. This is one refreshing and light watermelon sangria perfect for a summer BBQ. You can make your own delicious watermelon drink this summer with a Georgia Watermelon.
Even better you can enter the “Georgia’s Best Summertime Drink” recipe contest. Georgia Watermelon is hunting for the most refreshing and delicious drink that stars watermelon, of course. The contest starts July 1, 2017 and ends August 13, 2017. Winning entries will be announced late August or early September and receive a juicy watermelon-themed prize. You can find the entry form here.
So run to the store and grab a Georgia Watermelon and see what drink (non-alcoholic or alcoholic) you can come up with. I’d love to hear.
