I’ve been inundating myself with fresh strawberries since we are lucky enough to get Florida Strawberries at the store in January. I know I have told you time and time again about my morning issues. Once the alarm clock goes off, I fumble my way down the stairs to get breakfast for my daughter and coffee for me. Sorry Lucy Doggy, I have to turn my espresso machine on before I let you outside or feed you. I have my priorities. I have to know exactly what I am making my little one for breakfast. I’ve been known to accidentally grab leftover dinner out of the fridge instead of her breakfast. Oh, morning woes.
As for my breakfast, it isn’t going to happen at least for an hour. By then I’ve savored every last drop of my cappuccino and gotten a lot of work done. I am also starving. Yup, I go from not being the least hungry to being so hungry I could eat a chunk of my desk. So it has to be quick. It also has to be loaded with protein. That is what makes a Strawberry Cheesecake Protein Smoothie perfect. I not only use protein powder, but my absolutely, positively favorite smoothie ingredient, cottage cheese. Cottage cheese makes a smoothie thick and creamy without any ice. No ice in my smoothie, please.

Strawberry Cheesecake Protein Smoothie
- 1 cup almond milk or water*
- 1 scoop vanilla protein powder
- 1/2 cup 1% fat cottage cheese
- 1 cup quartered strawberries
- 1 tbsp . chia seeds
Place all ingredients in a blender and puree.
