The best ribs ever! Smoked Baby Back Ribs with Peach BBQ Sauce - Low Calorie, Low Fat, Healthy Dinner Recipe

My daughter absolutely adores ribs. Given a choice, it is what we will have for dinner. Ly is heading into third grade and will soon be taller than I am. (Ok that isn’t difficult, I am short) There is still a little bit of a little girl left in her; even though she likes to pretend to be grown up at times. The other day she excitedly came downstairs and told me her new blue tank top has a bra in it. My mind instantly thinks “NO, you are too young.” “I am not ready for this.” Then the rational side of my brain pipes in that we need to handle this moment carefully.

I want her to have a positive body image. I put on a big smile and say “How Cool”. She smiles back, and tells me she has never worn a shirt with a bra in it before. Part of my brain is screaming “I am not ready for this”. Again I put on a big smile and say that is “so cool”. I knew it wasn’t going to be that simple. It was time for 20 questions. Why did they put a bra in the shirt? How did they put it in? Why is it only this shirt that has a bra? Did you know this shirt had a bra in it? I feel like my brain is going to explode. Diversion time. Luckily it was time to go feed our neighbors cat.

While we were walking up the street, she tells me that it feels so weird to feel a bra around her. She has never worn one before or felt it. Would she get use to it? How long would it take for her to get use to it? Did it feel weird the first time I wore a bra? We are only half way to the neighbor’s house. All the while I smile and keep it positive. We had just seen the movie “Inside Out” and all I could think of was that this could be a core memory.

The pressure of it all. Later that night as I replayed it all in my head, I laughed out loud. This is a memory I want to keep, such sweet innocence. I am making this a core memory of mine. Hopefully by writing about it, I will remember that special little day. I cannot even begin to imagine what the actual day will be like when she really needs a bra. I am going to need help!

Whenever we have these ribs, I can read about this little memory and enjoy a little chuckle. Smoked Baby Back Ribs with Peach BBQ Sauce are so good, you will want them time and time again, too. A little note about baby back ribs, it is worth trying different brands to find the ones that taste the best. I use to buy them at my local grocery store; then I discovered the ones at a big box store tasted more like pork. Then I bought them at Sprouts. Wow! The pork flavor was incredible and they are so meaty. When we had the ones from the big box store again, we realized the ones from Sprouts are so much better. They are moist and really have a delicious pork flavor.

Hi Julia, My daughter went through a phase when she did not want to get messy, but she grew out of it. Now she doesn't care if she has food caked all over her face!

Hi Shelby, Sprouts is a small grocery store, like a small version of Whole Foods. They are awesome
