I have been making this recipe for years now and finally got around to taking photos of it. Usually I make it right before a party and am dashing around like my head has been cut off with all the last minute details. This time I was smart. I made it the day before. It only took me a year to think of that idea! Yup, smart. Any hoo, I am so glad I can finally share it with you. I was about to write that I remember the first time I had sangria. How often do I say that? Probably too often, but alas, I do not remember. What? I don’t know how that happened. I remember loving sangria at The Columbia restaurant in Florida. Was that the first? I don’t remember. My memory is failing me.
I guess it doesn’t matter. I have loved sangria for years. This one is a party favorite. You may need to double or triple the recipe. I made it for our Christmas party and had to remake it three times, and we still ran out. I keep the fruit simple with just frozen raspberries and lemon slices. A great tip is putting frozen raspberries into the sangria. They will help keep it cold, plus add more delicious raspberry flavor. I don’t bother squeezing a bunch of lemons to make lemonade.
I use a raspberry lemonade concentrate. Sacrilege maybe, but look a party is a lot of work. I need some timesavers to get everything done. Plus, the concentrate is delicious. I would have to buy a ton of expensive lemons to make a lemonade concentrate. Have you seen the price of lemons lately? Outrageous. I am counting on our lemon tree to supply my lemon love very soon.
Make Raspberry Lemonade Sangria for your next party. Actually make a triple batch for your next party. You will need it. Be sure to let me know how it turns out for you. I love pictures too. Post it on Instagram with the #fooddonelight.
