It is pumpkin spice mania all over the place, and it looks like I’ve caught the bug, too. I use to love having a Pumpkin Spice Latte at a certain coffee shop, but since I’ve cut my sugar intake, it is way too sweet. I miss that tradition of sipping a pumpkin spice latte while shopping or meeting a friend. I thought of just making my own at home, and I will soon. In the meantime, I needed something for breakfast so a Pumpkin Spice Latte became a Pumpkin Spice Latte Smoothie. My Vanilla Cappuccino Smoothie had been a big success, so why not? It worked brilliantly. I used some canned pumpkin puree and my own spices. With the addition of protein powder and Greek yogurt, I had a protein powerhouse. I’ve left the sweetness up to you. It does need a little, so I used a little stevia. You can use sugar or a sugar substitute. Start with a teaspoon, then add more if you need it. You don’t want this too sweet.
