Pin Creamsicle – Orange Yogurt Popsicles here.
Summer time snacking means popsicles in our house. After a few hours of swimming in the pool in 90* weather, my little one is ready for an ice-cold snack. These Orange Creamsicle Yogurt Popsicles are just the ticket. We always have homemade popsicles in the freezer during the summer. My daughter absolutely loves making them, so it is a fun activity we can do together. She thinks she is having a special treat like ice cream, and I know she is really having something a little more nutritious. That is why I like to use Greek yogurt for the base of my popsicles. Yoplait® Greek yogurt has 19 grams of protein in a 1 cup serving along with 20% of our daily calcium requirements.
I have to admit after being in the sun for a few hours, I am longing for an ice-cold Orange Creamsicle Yogurt Popsicle too. I love an afternoon snack. It can be my downfall. Having something delicious in the freezer that will cool me off, is so enticing. Plus it won’t spoil our dinner. Whenever we to go Walmart, Ly will pick out the flavor of yogurt she wants. Vanilla is always a favorite of hers. Plus it makes a delicious base for any flavored popsicle. We have already made watermelon with dark chocolate and cookies and cream popsicles this year. All used Greek yogurt as the base. Greek yogurt may very well be the ingredient I use most in my house for cooking.
It is so funny to see her ask if she can have a popsicle. There is such hope and a little questioning in her voice. She isn’t quite sure I will say yes. Then when I readily agree, her little eyebrows pop up and she gets a huge grin on her face. “I can?” she always asks again. She suddenly thinks I am the greatest Mom ever, and I see no reason to burst her bubble. I am trying to stack up some points now for those teenage years when she thinks I am crazy and know absolutely nothing.
In the meantime, hopefully we are building some fun bonding moments that will lead to good memories for her. I have to admit, I like having her standing on her stool right next to me in the kitchen as we work together. I know if I blink, this time is going to be over in a flash.
