Yes, another challenge to increase your exercise. The idea of doing this slowly is two-fold. First, we want to change our lifestyle to be more active and that takes time. It takes weeks of continuous activity to make your body crave it. Second, I don’t want to get hurt! Every January, I start out hard-core, and I hurt myself. Then I cannot exercise for a few weeks. The cycle just keeps going. I am trying to stop the madness.
The exercises challenges have actually been the easiest for me. That does not mean, I have been perfect. I’ve been sick and yesterday fell at the gas station (so embarrassing) and hurt my already swollen knee. Ugh! So I have taken today off. I am feeling mighty guilty, because I have to be consistent or I dive off the deep end and eat what I shouldn’t. I’m hoping by staying off of it today, I can be back to normal tomorrow. I actually kind of like the extra activity. Since I work from home, I have a certain amount of control with my schedule. I am exercising at 3pm. Why, such a weird time? That is when I get the serious munchies and cannot stop thinking about food. I’m trying to kill two birds with one stone.
So this is what my schedule has been:
Mondays – Zumba – my previous goal was 10 minutes but I was doing 20. So I am going to jump to 30 minutes.
Tuesday – 30 minutes with the trainer and 20 extra minutes on the elliptical.
Wednesday – same as Monday
Thursday – same as Tuesday except I’ll add a tabata on a bike.
Friday – 30 minute walk
I know eventually I need to add in either Saturday or Sunday, but right now I would fail at it. I am not trying to set any of us up for failure. What are you going to do to increase your exercise this week? I hope you are lifting weights in addition to a cardio work out. Weight lifting is so important for women and strong bones. Plus, it is fun! I love how strong I feel when I lift weights.
Are you with me? YES!!
