Thanks to Honeysuckle White Turkey for sponsoring this recipe for Grilled Turkey Burgers with Avocado and Bacon. All opinions are my own.
Fire up the grill and put on some healthy turkey burgers. Top your deliciously, moist grilled turkey burgers with avocado, bacon, cheese and a homemade Thousand Island dressing.
Are you a grilling fanatic? Do you grill even if it there is snow on the ground? As a matter of fact, we do. We grill all year round. In this case “we” actually means my husband. I send him out to brave the freezing cold weather and grill. Meanwhile I am staying warm inside the house. Rather brilliant of me, I must say. Luckily he loves to grill all year round. Hence, there is no need to twist his arm.
For all you other non-winter grillers, grilling season is just around the corner, and I am getting you ready with a new recipe for grilled turkey burgers. The turkey is, of course, Honeysuckle White Turkey. You all know I am partial to their turkey products as the turkeys are raised without any growth promoting antibiotics. It all started with my visit to one of their 700 independent family farms a few years ago. That visit changed the way I buy turkey.
In this recipe I am using 93% lean ground turkey. I’ve added some ground mushrooms and onions for added moisture. Then the turkey burgers were grilled on high to get a delicious sear on the outside. You always want to cook your turkey to 165•. Be sure you let your turkey burgers rest before topping with a slice of crispy bacon and creamy avocado. Did I forget to mention the melted cheddar cheese? Oh and the homemade Thousand Island dressing. Is your mouth watering yet?
Next week I think we will throw some turkey sausage onto the BBQ or some marinated turkey breast cutlets. There are so many options to grill turkey. For you East Coasters, look for Shady Brook Farms, Honeysuckle White Turkeys sister brand. You can find lots of other grilled turkey recipes at Honeysuckle White. I’ve got lots of turkey recipes too. Turkey is my go-to protein especially since it has less Weight Watcher Smartpoints than chicken!
