Make chocolate covered strawberry frozen yogurt granola hearts for your sweethearts this Valentine’s. It is a healthy, low calorie, low fat snack, they will love.
It’s all ’bout that heart, that heart, no circles. I have had that Meghan Trainor song stuck in my head forever now. Are you singing it now? I actually thought it was the silliest song the first few times I heard it. It was not until I heard what it was really about, that I came to like it. If my daughter wants to sing a song that is telling her to like her body for what it is, I’m down with that. She probably has no clue that is really what it is about, but …. I’ll take it. I’ve listened to Taylor Swift songs over and over again for much of the same reason.
When it comes to Valentine’s Day and little girls, it is all about hearts, flowers, pink and red. A Dollar Store pink, plastic champagne glass filled with seltzer water and a maraschino cherry sends her into giggles of delight. Chocolate covered Strawberry Frozen Yogurt Granola Hearts are the perfect afternoon snack to celebrate. They are pink and heart shaped. Don’t you know that heart shaped, pink food tastes better?
Not into pink or hearts? No worries, choose a different flavor of yogurt. Blueberry will make gorgeous purple little snacks. You could make pineapple or banana rabbit shaped frozen yogurt snacks for Easter. Go wild! Keep them in an air tight container in the freezer. Why pay $5 for a box of those little chocolate covered ice cream bars, when you can make your own in about 5 minutes? I also like that these are homemade treats. It helps to teach my daughter that life is about the little things, the ones that you take time to make for someone else. It isn’t about a box of candy and presents. I wonder if she is getting that? Probably much like the song, she just likes it and doesn’t get the message yet. Fingers crossed she will in the long term!
