Whether you want to make a Holiday gift or just need something delicious to warm you up, try Chai Hot Chocolate for a low calorie treat.
When you work out of your home, it can get a little lonely. So I’ve been looking for a way to network with other healthy food bloggers. I wanted a network and support for myself and another resource for you all. The truth is, you can never have enough healthy living and eating support in your life.
While I hope you enjoy my recipes and they make eating healthy easier for you, I know it is even easier when you have a broad network of healthy recipes to choose from. So I was delighted when I came across The Recipe Redux. It is a recipe challenge founded by registered dietitians aimed at inspiring all of us to cook healthier and enjoy it. The founders carefully choose a theme each month and the approved healthy food bloggers get to create a recipe for that theme.
This month the theme was healthy Holiday Mixes for hostess gifts or food gifts. I love this idea. I always give homemade goodies to all my neighbors but this was a twist. This isn’t about giving something pre-made but giving a mix, something they can make. That is much tougher than it sounds. As it happens, I am obsessed with hot chocolate once the weather turns cold. I am also extremely lucky, that my Grillmaster turns into a Hot Chocolate Master in the winter. I can turn to my Hot Chocolate Master, bat my eye lashes, and comment about how much I would love a cup of hot chocolate. A few minutes later, a luscious mug of chocolaty goodness will appear.
Hot chocolate is all about comfort. I love the idea of finding a pretty mug. Filling it with the ingredients for my Chai Hot Chocolate and giving as a gift to a teacher or neighbor. It’s like giving a mug full of comfort, saying it’s OK, take some time out and enjoy a book or fire while sipping this delicious gift. It is a great way to say “Thank you for being you”.

Happy Healthy Eating,
To give as a gift, buy a pretty Christmas mug. Place all the ingredients in a zip lock bag and place inside of the mug. Print up a pretty recipe card with the instructions.
